Armance Bordes
General Counsel, Sofinnova Partners
Armance Bordes, who joined Sofinnova Partners in March 2018, is our general counsel.
She has 15 years’ experience handling legal and regulatory issues in private equity and venture capital. Prior to joining Sofinnova, Armance was deputy general counsel and secretary of the board of directors at Eurazeo.
Her role with us encompasses fundraising with LPs (Limited Partners) and investment/divestment activity with portfolio companies. She is responsible for all legal and compliance matters across a wide range of Sofinnova Partners’ strategic transactions.
“No two deals are the same because we invest in many jurisdictions: France, Europe, the rest of the world – mainly the US for the moment,” she said in an interview with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. “I negotiate the terms of the investment and arrange the financing documentation with the portfolio companies in which we invest.”
Armance started her career as an M&A lawyer at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Paris. She graduated from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and holds a postgraduate diploma from Oxford University. She is a member of the Paris bar and represents venture capital at Invest Europe's Public Affairs Executive.
