    Javier Nunez-Vicandi

    Principal, Sofinnova Partners - Digital Medicine Strategy

    Javier is a Principal with the Sofinnova Digital Medicine Strategy. He is a thesis-driven VC Investor at the intersection of healthcare and technology, with a variety of experience in different European healthcare systems.

    He came to Sofinnova Partners from Heal Capital, a €100 million early-stage HealthTech venture capital fund where he was the first employee and where he played an active role in the growth of the fund from zero to 12 investments. Before that, he was an Analyst at the New Businesses Fund at M Ventures, working on investments in data-driven healthcare, biotechnology and automation.

    Javier was a practicing clinical doctor at Oxford University Hospital Trust in the UK. He has held posts at Britain’s National Spinal Injury Centre and Oxford’s Churchill Hospital Transplant Department, the largest pancreatic transplant center in Europe.

    Javier holds an MPhil (distinction) from Cambridge University and completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Newcastle University.
