Monique Saulnier

    Managing Partner

    Monique Saulnier is a managing partner of Sofinnova Partners. She joined us in 1983, became chief financial officer in 1997 and then COO, a position she held until 2022.

    With 40 years of experience in the management of support teams for private equity, Monique has been active in building VC standards. She led the task force that produced the “AFIC Guide: Valuations and Reporting” in 2002, was actively involved in producing new accounting standards for FCPRs within the French accounting regulatory body in 2004, and was instrumental in the production of the IPEV (International Private Equity Valuation board) Valuation Guidelines and Reporting Guidelines.

    “We are global,” Monique says when asked which of Sofinnova Partners’ strengths she values most. “We have experience, a strong network, a good reputation for adding value to our portfolio companies — and the relationships between the CEOs of the portfolio companies and our partners are excellent.”

    Monique was a founding member of the IPEV Association and a member of the Professional Standards Committee of Invest Europe (EVCA). She has also chaired a number of seminars and training institutes on valuation and reporting for Invest Europe.

    She is a member of the Commission de déontologie within France Invest.

    Monique holds a master’s degree in management and a DECS accounting degree.
